Hello, I have been using my gmail account for years and it is over capacity due attachments that I have never deleted. I wanted to download all of the attachments and store them on my HD. I tried downloading the Thunderbird attachment extractor extension but it was not compatible—would you be kind enough to help me find a solution rather than having to go each email and downloading the attachments one-by-one. I currently have Thunderbird version 60.0 for a mac.

Thank you for your help and insight!

I suggest you install the FiltaQuilla add-on for TB 60 and create a filter that applies the action 'Detach attachments to' to your gmail folders. 'Detach' saves the attachments and then deletes them from the message.
