in the settings you can prevent sites to know your location, but i didn't find an option to prevent firefox to know your location, so where is it?
it's really annoying, especially because when i search IRL things it always shows only results that are located in my region, with newspapers for example, like if i search only "news" it'll only shows newspapers from my city and the two other nearest to me, so i always need to type "news from the world" or things like that
Chosen solution
In addition to the above :
What I posted earlier (Page Info => Permissions) you can do on any page, including Google, or any other search engine.
Also see : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/does-firefox-share-my-location-websites
Another thing you can do is :
Type in the address bar about:config and press Enter (promise to be careful, if asked)
Type in the search bar : geo.enabled
and set its value to false
Then close and restart Firefox.

When your on a Mozilla site (like this site we are on now) :
Click on the 'i' in a circle, next to the padlock at the left side of the address bar. That will take you to 'Page Info'. Then click on the little black arrow on the dropdown and then on 'More Information'. Click on the 'Permissions' tab and scroll down to 'Access Your Location'. Here you uncheck 'Use Default' and check 'Block'.
HI, there are Search Short Cuts : https://www.lifewire.com/advanced-google-search-3482174
best are if you do not want local put a minus sign -local If want local + local another term is lists newspaper lists news list review Quotation marks on each side of the search term. Go into the advanced search area of the Search Engine and you will be able to add more things or take away as per google.

Hi foxfirefirefox, when you request search results from a site, and you are logged in, the site often will use your previous behavior to personalize the results. Even if you search logged out, the site often will check the IP address provided by your network service provider to localize the results. If the site always does this and you can't find a way to change its default behavior, you could consider using a different search site instead.
IP Address and VPNs
You can't access a website without providing a return IP address to send the requested information back to. That applies to all browsers, desktop apps, and mobile apps. That address can be associated with rather specific information. The following is an example of a site that shows what IP address lookup databases have for your IP address:
That is different from sharing your precise location, which is what you disabled.
If you want sites to think you have a different IP address, then you need to use a VPN service (or drive around to various coffee shops...). Be sure you trust any services you try as much as you trust your ISP, since whoever handles your connection knows your browsing history.
For example: Best VPN Services 2018 - Lab Tested Reviews by PCMag.com
But then, if the site insists on localizing, you'll get news from some other area. That might not be any less annoying than what happens now...

as you already sad, using a fake IP won't help me because it will show me things about that zone or country, but thank you for the useful information!
