I accidentally replaced some system library with a new version instead of keeping both, now all firefox menues and animation are unavailable please help.
I understand that my problem is dumb, but i can't get rid of it and it is annoying as hell! I use Linux Mint. One day, during a regular software update, I got a popup window asking whether I want to keep 2 versions of some library or replace the old version with a newer one. I was recommended to keep both, but accidentally I pressed "replace" instead of "keep" and since then I have this problem. I experience this problem in firefox, waterfox, even after reinstall. The problem is - all of the pop-up menues in Firefox stop showing when requested. The preferences (main menu) doesn't show up, so does bookmarks menu, so does that small pop-up window with bookmark properties when you make a new one. Addons'popups do not show as well so I am not able to use them any more. Luckily hotkeys still work and I could save my bookmarks. I am a 10years-long fan of Firefox and I cannot even imagine myself abandoning this browser! Please help me to fix this! Much regards

Your going to have to reinstall the older version to get the library back if it doesn't give you a restore option.

Are you using KDE ? as some Ubuntu and Mint users said they had invisible windows or menus in Firefox until the changed the KDE rendering backend to xrender.
