Firefox seems to be hanging and I can’t figure out why. Its also taking up disk space when in use.
This problem only started recently and I tried to do the troubleshooting for this and nothing has worked. I haven’t tried unistalling it which seems like the best course of action and the only. If anyone has something else that I can try, I will gladly try it.

When I mean disk space I mean disk usage in the task manager. Sorry for not being clear.
That's not the same as what you asked two different situations. Sounds like your FF is messed up and the best way to fix is uninstall all FF installs and delete the mozilla folder but also save your bookmars if you have any. And then restart and reinstall a fresh updated FF to fix the memory leak problem.

Hi, Not clear on taking up disk space. Do you mean it is actively read/writing ? Is sorta normal, but if is excessive I would suggest giving yourself a scan : https://www.malwarebytes.com/
Will stop here as you used a phone to make the question so is this a phone question or a Windows system, Mac or Linux ? What Security Software are you running ? What Extensions are you running ?
I had task manager running before starting up Firefox and when it was running it seemed to take up all of the disk space.
This is for Windows 10. I’m using Windows defender security software. The only extension I’m running would be NoScript.
Run the scan : https://www.malwarebytes.com/
Again using terms that are not in Task Manager. CPU usage or Ram Usage or both ?
To be Checked and turned off unless needed for accessibility : Please : go to the Firefox 3 Bar Menu --> Options --> Privacy & Security panel and under Permissions check (put a check mark in the box) the setting to Prevent Accessibility Services from accessing your browser.
Multi-Processor Support : Go to the 3 Bar Menu then Options --> General --> Performance and uncheck everything. change the recommended size lower then see how it runs. Note: 1 = No Multiprocessor = slow again. Try 2 Restart Firefox after making these changes please. Note : Hardware Acceleration is for Video Card, Monitor to see if remain off or to turn back on.
Only Disable as last resort.
Multi-processor Can completely disable it this way in about:config : dom.ipc.processCount set to 1 browser.tabs.remote.autostart = false browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 = false
Only move to esr if low ram and old system.
Firefox Extended Release Version : Firefox ESR does not come with the latest features but it has the latest security and stability fixes.
If do please :
When I mean disk space I mean disk usage in the task manager. Sorry for not being clear.

Thank you Pkshadow and WestEnd for helping me out on this one. I unistalled Ff and reinstalled it and that seemed to do the trick.
