7-17-18 Thunderbird update: My calendar tab disappeared. Where did it go?
My calendar has disappeared. I have years of important dates that are lost. . . say it ain't so, Mozilla! WTF. My "add-ons" show nothing installed. Are you kidding me? They broke Thunderbird?
Chosen solution
Try this when Lightning fails to update properly: Remove Lightning if it's listed in Tools/Add-ons/Extensions, then Tools/Options/Advanced/General/Config. editor, right-click the preference extensions.installedDistroAddon.{e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103} and select Reset. OK to close Options, restart TB.

Save the drama.
The calendar in Thunderbird is Lightning. Lightning is an add on. Go to the add on tab in Thunderbird and click Extensions. Is Lightning listed but disabled? Enable it. If not listed enter lightning in the search box and install it.
Why do all you guys have to act so snooty and condescending? You're a jerk and you didn't even read my question.
I had a calendar tab before the update. Now I don't. Ergo, Mozilla update broke my thunderbird. I never installed "lightning" in the first place. What say you now, Mr. Smarty-Pants?
Modified
Come back when you follow the instructions on installing lightning. Or don't. i do not care. My calendar works.
Your are the one that started out with WTF.
You don't care, that's the whole problem. You're not interested in helping people, you come here just so you can be a smartass prick.
If you walk into a room slinging poop be prepared to leave with some stuck in your teeth. Have a good one.
Oh and if you ever decide to use the help you asked for and I provided, all your events will restore.
"all your events will restore." Why didn't you say that in the first place instead of starting a row?
Btw, current Lightning add-on is not up to date and will not install in Thunderbird 52.9.1.
So back to square one. Your advice is worthless.
Works for me and everyone else. You must just be bad luck Sorry.

Thank you so much sfhowes!!! This worked immediately. That's how community support is supposed to work. I cannot express how much relief I felt knowing there are still good Mozilla volunteers ready to help the clueless among us. :)
lightning is incompatible with thunderbird 60.3.1
