I can no longer see my calendar in Thunderbird, how can I get it back?

For about the last 3 days I have totally lost my calendar on Thunderbird. There appears to be no reference to it on all the tabs on Thunderbird. Anybody any ideas?

Chosen solution

The Thunderbird calendar, Lightning, is an add on. Go to the add on tabs and click extensions. Is Lightning there but disabled. Enable it. Is it not listed at all? Enter lightning in the search box and install it.
