On my thunderbird account, how do I enter a new password?

I deleted the passwords for pop and smtp on one of my thunderbird accounts and don't see how to restore the or put new ones in....the help info only talks about changing them.

Thunderbird will prompt you for the password when it's needed.

Before you deleted them, assuming you did that at... Options-Security-Passwords-Saved Password, if you clicked Show Passwords you could have right clicked a password and selected Edit Password. Now you wait for Thunderbird to need a password and ask for one like christ1 stated.

Thanks to both (christ1 & airmail). I will wait until thunderbird asks me for the password. Now I know that I should have used a right-click to edit the existing one.

The edit option has only been there in the last few versions but it is a welcome addition.
