can't download with firefox. download folder has .part file. other browers download fine

Firefox won't download files. I am left with a file that is a incomplete, with the extension .part and a random name. When restarting in safe mode I am able to download but this is very annoying to have to do everytime I launch the browser.

If it works in Safe Mode, means there's another problem. What extensions do you have installed?

I have no extensions, or themes. Plugins and add-ons are deactivated.

Downloads are working when in safe mode but its annoying to have to boot/switch to safe mode to use the browser.

It is possible that security software (anti-virus, firewall) is causing the problem. Try to disable security software temporarily to see if that makes a difference.
