Red text in the address field is just a indicator that the address you entered is not in any of your address books giving you the chance to double check them if you think they should be. You can change colors all day but you are wasting your time. As you see it does not prevent sending the message. If you have the Collected Address book set to collect all outgoing addresses the next time you use those addresses they should be black since they were saved to the Collected Address Book.

It is working as designed.

Thanks for the answer. But it is not the address book that is red. My whole email composition is red. Everytime I write a new email or reply to an email. It is always red. I have tried changing it in the "Choose colour for text" but it does not stay for the next email.

If you are changing the text color in the Write window that is for that one email.

To check or change the default color go to Options-Composition-General What do you have there for text color?

I have black for the text color and background color white. please see attached.

Thanks for the screenshot. I wish more people would learn how to do that!

I would try clicking the Restore defaults button on the right side there.

When you open a Write window is the text color shown as black?

I have to leave for a while so I will check this when I get back.

re :i went to reply to an email

If the original email used css html coding that had red font then it is possible it is causing the problem.

When you click 'Reply', the entire email both original part and the bit you want to compose may be forced to use that css html coding, so it is effecting all of the email including your reply section.

That is the original senders error. I have experienced this sort of thing several times.
