I'm part of a business that has a need to reinstall version 56 of Firefox and keep it.

We've uninstalled Quantum Deleted C:\Users\%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla set it to never check for updates don't use background service don't update search engines

This is based on: http://support.cambiumtech.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=1597 One test machine has been stable since March. Others are still somehow updating to 59.0.2

Last attempt, we also deleted: C:\Users\%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Mozilla

We aren't going to Help > About to check version
