May I suggest that you download Firefox (again) from here :

And don't remove the installer after you are done, Just In Case.

Thanks for the help, everyone. I reinstalled Firefox and got it working. I normally use safari but like to switch back and forth. I just don't understand why one day it's there, and the next it's gone.

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.
