Is there a warning when you empty the trash?

I thought there used to be a warning when you emptied the trash, but I no longer see it. Am I think of my old Eudora program, or is there a warning in Thunderbird. If so, how do I get it back?

Did you previously check the box to have the warning not shown?

The Confirm Before Delete add-on has other useful options (see picture).

You can reverse checking the Don't Ask Before Delete box in the Config Editor. Go to Options-Advanced Click Config Editor Enter the word trash in the search box.

There are 2 entries to change. mail.empty.trash do not ask mailnews.empty.trash do not ask

I tried changing only the mail entry but it still did not ask. When I changed both it asked me to confirm again.

I have both options set to false and it asks me before emptying the trash. Right click the option and select Toggle to change.

Back out of config editor and restart Thunderbird.

Many thanks to "sfhowes" and "Airmail". I had searched the Configuration Editor, but hadn't found the correct keys. Now, all is well - thanks to you both and all the Thunderbird Contributors. Having just switched from Eudora, (Yeah, I know, what took me so long???) I'm trying to get the Thunderbird settings close to what I had in Eudora. Many thanks for all your help. (Actually, my wife thanks you even more than I. She hates change!!). Keep up the great work.
