we all need a good browser
the last three decades the World Wide Web has become important. How is it that we have little children controlling our access to its network? "100 million people would very much like to customize the appearance of their browser, with regards to the shape and location of tabs."
But he the little ones at Firefox don't give a damn because a Google search will return over 100 million hits asking to know how to do this and it is still not possible to get back a decent looking tabs that we all once had. Version 59 on a PC, running Windows, is still an ugly clunky looking thing. People will sell their cars and spend $20,000 for one day enjoy using, how is it that we don't have an option to purchase a browser, but is customization and can be made to do what we need it to do? I was around 30 years ago and all the Big Bang news was this open-source browser was going to revolutionize the world. Mozilla as lead us all down, by closing their Windows and turning off their "phones" essentially not listening to their customers at all. It sounds overly dramatic, but I love Firefox user for everyone of those 30 years, I got used to it, I learned to make it do what I needed to do, it never once behaved like a boat anchor to shut down my computer, but for some reason one day not all that many months ago, Mozilla snuck in the back door of my computer and poured this pile of crap onto my hard drive, under the guise of "quantum is great!" Well that's a matter of opinion because I have no idea what the heck they mean when they say "faster" what I'm using right now to write this letter is pig slow, and a real burden on my CPU, which is not ancient and did the job after year ago.
I'm just really disappointed because I know I have better things to do and try to figure out how to screw with our CSS files and what to do when Mozilla honestly forces and upgrade onto our computer, even when we have set up our options to not allow that to happen. What's the difference between Microsoft and Mozilla? Mozilla never listens, and I hate to admit it but Microsoft finally invested the time and effort to put out a reasonably decent piece of software.
I'm rolling along using last pass to handle all of my accounts, but now it doesn't work with Firefox. I'm really tired of this pissing match between the little kids at Mozilla and the big bullies at Microsoft. "It's not our fault , it's their fault"
what can we as users do to convince Microsoft that they need to keep Mozilla in the loop, and not dump new operating systems on us that are incompatible, and what do we have to do to make the reverse become commonplace?
As of this moment with the very latest versions of Firefox, and chrome only one of them lets me use my password manager, lastpass. guess which one I have to use? Hey Mozilla! On quitting using your product, not because they can't browse the web but because I can't access any of my accounts since you have decided to screw over last pass, and apparently the people at last pass our Microsoft losers who are busy stamping their feet saying "it's not our fault" For decades the Mozilla let us customize the look of our browsers, most notably tabs, and now they just say "screw you, use the tabs we give you" and all I can do is turn around and say "your self-important attitude is ruining perfectly good program"
apparently you are in charge of my security. Do you want to know my underwear size, the size of my Dick, my pants size, my shoe size? I hate to break it to you now need your product. And I have no respect for anyone who puts their own personal information on their computer and connects it to every computer in the world. Stop obsessing over security, and educate the masses that it's possible to exist without putting your Social Security number on a hard drive. Put the onus back on the users and let them be in control. There's nothing on my computer that I'm worried about anyone seeing. I'll give you my IP address and my passwords and you can have at it on my computer. I'm not stupid enough to attaining valuable in a position accessible from across the world. If I need that information I can just add it and then make sure it's removed. Are you aware, Mozilla, that no one can intercept TCP/IP packets and steel data being transmitted across the Internet? Time for Mozilla to figure out where they fit in the world, they don't fit on my computer anymore.
I don't give you control of my security, I don't want you to be concerned about my security, I would like you to just give me the tools I need to use the Internet the way I need to use it. Stop being my grandma, and spreading all this "we need to create security crap into my truck!you are aware are you that no one has ever been hacked by way of data being transmitted over the Internet. No one is ever stolen anyone's password from a TCP/IP packet transmission. Your obsession with my security is out of control and destroying what should be a useful medium of communication. Mozilla reminds me of government that actually force the creation of cars with seatbelts that automatically strapped around the driver, and ridiculous laws that force motorcyclists to wear helmets when they don't want to. Get out of my face, get out of my life.
This page is for questions and I respect that, but... the frustrated overly dramatic question of the day is when will someone "fix this crap!"

You are correct this page is not for what you just used it for.
The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.
If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected by a team of people who read it and gather data about the most common issues.
Hi John, I think there are two very specific concerns you mentioned, and a rant about security.
(1) You do not like square tabs (2) LastPass is not working
For #1, you also noted that it was not easy to find a solution in a search, and that's true. Lots of people do ask about it here, though, so we can suggest different approaches. All of them will, in fact, involve using custom style rules in a userChrome.css file.
Do you want to give that a try, or... not interested.
For #2, some of the reviews of the March 29th update to LastPass indicate a need to roll back to the March 8th version. If you want to try that:
(A) Disable auto-updates on LastPass on the Add-ons page. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
- type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return
In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions.
Then find LastPass on the right side and click its "More" link. Scroll down past the description to the settings, and you should find an option to change Automatic Updates from "Default" to "Off"
(B) To install an older version, find its install button on the Versions page:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/lastpass-password-manager/versions/
Hopefully you'll find one that works for you.
