I have an Acer Chromebook R13 running archlinuxarm which has an armv8 64 bit processor - the one missing feature is Thunderbird beta 59.0b2 which I run on all my other Linux machines on Core i5 and core i7 Intel cpus. I love the beta as it has better features and fixes than the stock stable build at any time. Any chance of a build for this architecture?

There are no real plans for an official ARM build of Thunderbird any time soon.

It looks like the gentoo folk have a build working https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-8081866.html

So do ubuntu https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunderbird/1:52.4.0+build1-0ubuntu2/+build/13546409

But it looks like your best bet might the the archlinusarm forums. https://archlinuxarm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=12642
