Click the AppMenu button. It is a button with 3 horizontal lines. Select File-New Message-Existing Mail Account Add the info for your new mail account that you previously set up with your email provider. There is a button labeled Get New Account but that is if you want to purchase a new account from a 3rd party vendor.

Repeat as needed. I do not know of any account limit in Thunderbird. There are users with dozens of accounts managed in Thunderbird.

Thanks Airmail - I just did as you said but after doing it all, got the usual pop up with selection Retry, enter password or cancel! so unfortunately back to the drawing board. For the lie of me I cannot understand why this is not going OK. I enter the same username and password on the online web page and get all my emails there but I just want to have them all in Thunderbird as it's stupid having to go online for one account.

Who is the provider? Have you enabled POP or IMAP access for the account at the providers site? You may need to get the server settings from your provider and enter them manually if they have changed from what is in the Thunderbird data store.

It is supplied by Talktalk; they have confirmed in a chat that my details that I entered are correct. I have tried both POP3 and first of all IMAP but got the same results every time. I was going to change my password but why should I and what difference would it make as i am using the correct one now?

If your password works at the providers site you are wasting time changing it. Either your settings are wrong or your antivirus is causing issues. If you start your computer in safe mode with networking can you open Thunderbird and add the account?

It would not be the first time that a provider help desk stated the incorrect settings were correct. Most of them are lucky to know to answer the phone when it make a noise.

You might want to review their web page for email here. https://help2.talktalk.co.uk/email-settings-imap-pop3

If this does not work maybe someone that uses TalkTalk will come along with a hint.
