I have been trying unsuccessfully to add one or two more email accounts. I have win 8.1 and have followed all the suggestions. Am I allowed to install Thunderbird more than once for additional accounts?

Perhaps you can explain in detail what you did, what instructions you followed, and what happened.

That would be a very silly thing to do.
