Does Thunderbird have a Do Not Disturb mode?

Is there a way to tell Thunderbird to stop checking for incoming emails and/or sending out notifications when a new mail arrives? I was looking for something like a Do Not Disturb mode available in cell phones. I know Thunderbird has an Offline mode. If this is the only way to accomplish what I want, does it have a shortcut that can be added to the toolbar? Thanks

The shortcut is the two blue monitors in the bottom left corner of the screen.

Personally I have notifications of all kinds turned off all the time. I simple do not need to be told I have an email. That is not really an option to turn on and off with a single click, so I suggest stick with the online/offline.
