How do i redirect emails please.

I am new to Mozilla and thunderbird, how can I set up to redirect emails when I am away from machine

you log into your mail providers web site and you enter the forwarding details in the web interface.
You can use filters in Thunderbird, but it is a very very poor choice as it requires you computer to be running and Thunderbird to be running all the time you are away. I can not get windows to run unattended for more than a few days before Microsoft decides I need to reboot.

I am going to guess you mean forward them to another address. Do this at your providers webmail site.

Thank you for the reply, unfortunately that is not what I meant.
if I am on holiday, how can i redirect emails to another email address so they get answered. Can this be done in Thunderbird ?

I thought that might be a problem, in BT I can only go 30 minutes I think before ist almost shuts down....
