Thunderbird deleted an email I was looking at
Someone sent me an email with photos, which I were saving to my hard drive. Suddenly the email just disappeared. I must have hit some key while I was saving the photos, but I know I hadn't clicked delete. I can't find the whole email anywhere, including in the trash. Can you think of any way to retrieve it?

try looking in the archive folder.
Thanks for answering.
I'd looked in every folder, including that one, junk, trash, outbox, and nobody on local folders : no luck. The latter folder features a random selection from various other folders as well as a string of blank messages labelled 12/31/69 4:00 pm. And a random array of messages transfer themselves to archives.
I'm wondering if any of this is happening because my mailboxes are so full. The sent one is huge. Then one address has 3000 emails in it because I don't seem to be able to select multiple emails to delete and haven't had time to go through them one by one to click and delete.
