Is there anything better than Status-4-Evar?
My gripe with Status-4-Evar is that it doesn't work. It starts out fine when I am watching a streaming video, showing what is going on while the video is getting started. But then it shows either a blank line in the toolbar or else the one word "Done". I want to see what is stalling the video so that I can try adding it to the Windows XP hosts file looped back to "local host".

You can check the Network Monitor to see if content is blocked or otherwise fails to load. If necessary use "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.
Thank you Cor-el! I did not know about the Network Monitor [or the developer tools at all]. It will take me a while to get to understand it,.

Would not want to do that. That is like giving away your house while still living in it. Know nothing about that addon they do have a support page :
SAFE MODE
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:
- all extensions are disabled (about:addons)
- default theme is used (no persona)
- userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
- default toolbar layout is used (file: localstore-safe.rdf)
- Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (prefs: javascript.options.*jit)
- hardware acceleration is disabled (Options > Advanced > General)
- plugins are not affected
- preferences are not affected
TEST
Please Refresh but do this 1st: Delete your Cookies and Cache and TEST.
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles
then
TEST....... If no issues then Extensions which need to be added back in 1 at a time and tested ..... Or it is your Profile : Make a new one and test ...:
If is your Profile :
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox
Note: Any customization will revert back to default, you will also need to reinstall Extensions.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Thank you for your quick and knowledgeable response. I will try your suggestions (it will take a while).
