How can I prevent Firefox from directing me to the country website (google.it) instead of .com while traveling?

Traveling around Europe with a Windows 7 PC. When I try to search google, I am always redirected to the .it or .de (whichever country I'm in). How do I get Firefox to always go to google.com?

Hi  !

You can find Google search engines, including a 'No country redirect' version, on the Mycroft Project website  :

I was hoping to find a fix without adding a new search engine. Is there a setting in Firefox that I can change to stop the redirect?

No - it's not Firefox, but Google that redirects to the country you're in.
