When opening Thunderbird it needs up to a minute before it shows any messages and in the address line it says: bad request. Can you help ?
On starting up Thunderbird it always says "bad request" (in German: keine Rückmeldung) for about a minute and then it opens correctly. During this time the idling circle shows on the screen. When it starts about 2 months ago I saw some file (.js) obviously from microsoft doing something which I could not identify. I tried to find this file on the laptop to delete it but couldn't find it. Now there is still this delay when opening Thunderbird. Has anybody got a solution to fix it ?

Check your anti-virus settings (disable it then test)
Could also try right clicking on the mailbox on the left hand column that's causing the problem and going to Properties -> Repair Folder
