Firefox won't reliably attach images in web apps

In Canva, Tweetdeck, on Mastodon and numerous other web apps, I find that the button to attach or upload images (for example, to attach one to a Tweet) simply stops working. I can click repeatedly on that button and get no response.

I'm using Linux Mint.

To add more info, I find the function works normally after I start up Firefox, but over time it stops working.
