Is Firefox automatically going to become Firefox Quantum?

Is Firefox automatically going to become Firefox Quantum?

You do not have to download anything, you will be automatically updated to 'Quantum' very shortly, if you would like to manually check for an update, click on the hamburger menu, the question mark, and then select About Firefox... to force an update check!

Quantum is like a codename for Firefox 57. It should update automatically over the next day or so, or you can manually download and install it.

My main concern is that the layout/appearance of my Firefox will change in a drastic way as happened once in the past. Back then,I had to spend a lot of time re-configuring. Will this problem happen with #57 or will the layout stay reasonably the same ???

Hi, your layout will have some minor changes -- but you can fix these in the customize option rather quickly.

Why do you have to fix something that isn't broken? You 're getting to be as bad as Facebook that way.

Not a fix,I suspect, but an improvement.

Minor changes is a lie. The change in the look and features is drastic. No more Classic Toolbar. No tabs on bottom. None of the add-ons I use to keep the old look work or have a replacement. They fixed things that weren't broken. Will the memory hog feature be fixed so auto starting video ads don't fill all available RAM?

The customize options do not allow fixing to get back to Classic looks or much at all. No icon and text option. No large icons. Quantum looks a lot like IE and Chrome. Maybe I should use on of them.

Sounds like you are giving yourself a hummer.

No,just wondering if I want to do this update.

The question is: How does one block these updates. I also don't want any updates like FF Quantum. It's too much pain and sufferation. How can I block the update or revert to an earlier version?

Hello, use this guide from Aris (Classic Theme Restorer creator) if you wish for a classic look: https://github.com/Aris-t2/CustomCSSforFx

I suggest you wait until they get some customization features working. The press release says: How many ways can you customize the toolbar in the new Firefox?

There are 265,252,859,191,742,656,903,069,040,640,000 more ways to customize the new Firefox toolbar right out of the box!

I can't even get tabs on the bottom or get text and icons or change the color of the tabs from midnight blue or get the rounded corner tabs or stack the search and address bars

WAIT or you will be sorry. Quantum now runs as 7 different Processes.
