Will the SuperStart addon still work in Quantum?
Since discovering the SuperStart addon, I can't live without it. Is the new Quantum supporting this addon?

Similar extensions can be found with search term 'Speed Dial' in addons.mozilla.org https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=speed+dial
I understand that but it doesn't answer my question.

I absolutely agree - Superstart is invaluable - updated to Quantum and it disappeared! System Restore sorted it - but I do not want to update! I DO NOT WANT A FIREFOX UPDATE WITHOUT SUPERSTART OR ANY OF THE ADDONS THAT I USE NOW. WHY WEREN'T WE TOLD THAT MANY ADDONS DON'T WORK WITH QUANTUM? Very worrying as I have a load of stuff that I rely on stored on Superstart - how can I backup and retrieve this if Firefox insists on updating itself? NOT VERY HELPFUL!!!

I updated to Quantum on my wife's laptop which she hardly uses. It is very fast and sleek. The bad thing is looking under Tools>Addons it will show what you had and let you search for an alternative. But as of yet, there is NO alternative to Superstart, Colorful Tabs or Aniweather. Why aren't these developers working to update their addons?!?!
Because I had my browser set to update automatically I seem to have lost my Superstart screen completely - with all the information that it contained - that's not very helpful - thanks Mozilla. And Colour Tabs has vanished as well. These are features that I liked and I relied on Superstart which held a large amount of data that I can't now recover. Really, really annoying.
I started using Speed Dial (FVD) and it helps a bit until the developer at Superstart gets his addon updated again. He said he is working on it.

Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks Mike - I was pleased to hear that the developer is on the case - I am hopeful that he will be successful in due course. In the meantime I have set up Speed Dial and its alright - but I definitely would prefer SuperStart when we get it back. Fortunately, I discovered that Fx had not automatically updated on my laptop - I stopped it from doing so and I have my SuperStart data saved and backed up now ready to install when it gets going again - somewhat relieved!

You're lucky! I had to start from scratch and save the urls as an html file. I hope Cyberscorpio has an update soon!

Here we are over a year later and still no joy so the developer has just given up. Not good enough I guess. Mozilla's short cut directory is a little useful. At least colourful tabs is a work in progress.
