It worked Thursday morning, then later in the day, and ever since, nothing will load. It doesn't matter if I click bookmarks or type the url, it just sits there. My kids' computer, as I said, seems to be loading Firefox etc just fine. And this (my) computer has been using Internet Explorer ever since just fine, but I want Firefox back. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I've tried restarting with add-ons disabled. I can't understand what could possibly be the problem.

Us and you both.

My suggestion since have been uninstalling and installing is to uninstall again. Maybe run ccleaner up to you as to how comfortable doing that.

Then reinstall with a Full Version Installer of version 56.0.1 from here : https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

  • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
  • Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet. {web link}

Worth trying, but to no avail.

Good suggestion, but still not working.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
