Why can't I bookmark sites using version 52.4.1 ESR?
I can not bookmark any web sites.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks and history) in the Firefox profile folder. You can find a "Verify Integrity" button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" page.

my version is 52.7.3 esr. I was having the same problem. As I had the not esr version installed earlier I resolved as follows: I uninstalled. I deleted the directory from the profile c: users \ <me> \ appdata \ mozilla. I reinstalled esr and it worked.

If you remove everything under %AppData%\Mozilla\ then you lose all personal data that is stored in the Firefox profile folder. As posted above, it is usually sufficient to only delete or rename all places.sqlite files.
