Don't know what you mean by mail account. I clicked on the Thunderbird mail icon on my desktop with no folder showing up. I tried everything on the top of my email program. I do not have 'folder' listed anywhere in my email toolbar. HELP!

On the left of the Thunderbird window are folders. Things like your account name then it's sub folders like inbox. There is also local folders and it's sub folders.

Right click on mail acount or folder and select 'New folder' or 'New' subfolder' as offered in drop down menu.

If you have created a new folder in an imap mail account you may need to 'subscribe' to see the folder.
