A red "danger" bar appears in some emails that have been cleared by my server; how to fix?
I have a good spam checker in my national capital freenet server, but just recently emails that I know are fine and that come from well-established sources are being marked by a red bar from Firefox that says these may be dangerous. They are emails that go to multiple recipients, recipients also known by me. I assume this is a new Firefox add-in. I don't need this and it's bothersome. How do I turn it off? Thanks.

Do you really mean Firefox? This is a support forum for the Thunderbird email client.
Can you quote any of the words it uses? Or provide a screen shot? It may be Thunderbird's built in scam detection, or possibly your own anti-virus/security software.

Thank you for your reply. It's a red bar with a white shield on the left with an exclamation point inside it, the words "This message may be a scam." and an Options menu on the right that says "Ignore warning for this message" or "Edit scam detection options..." I don't know, it may be a Thunderbird item. I can try going there if you don't recognize this. I'd sent a screen image but I don't know how to do that, yet, sorry.
My virus scanner is Norton, but sometimes other things seem to creep on, through Mozilla or Thunderbird or something, even if I don't put them on. Like right now, McAfee Security Scan Plus seems to have recently arrived.
Thank you, your note about Thunderbird made me check the options with a clearer idea of what I could do. There was a check box which I unchecked, and now the bar disappeared. Magic! I'm always afraid to change something without knowing whether it will mess everything up. This seems fine. Thanks again.
