My email stopped working 2 days ag, with an error message login to server mail optusnet.com.au failed then error with account darylfir@optusnet.com.au then set new password after doing so next message sending of password did not succeed authentication denied

re :where did u send the message about the new password earlier today Thunderbird does not set password. It is an email client.

re :then set new password I presume you logged onto webmail account via a browser and reset the password. But you do not mention whether you then reset the password in thunderbird?

This is where passwords are located in thunderbird. 'Menu icon' > 'Options' > 'Options' > 'Security' > 'Passwords' tab click on 'Saved Passwords' click on 'show Passwords' right click on mailbox (if pop) or imap account line and select to 'Edit Password' make sure the text box is completely empty and type password. Do the same with the smtp account line.
