how do i get firefox to allow me to activate the save password feature in the security screen when the box you are required to click is not accessible.

I followed the instructions for doing this but when I got to the options/security screen the save password check box is not available ( greyed out).

Chosen solution

Make sure you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Always use Private Browsing mode; Never Remember History).

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy -> Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
  • remove checkmark: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"

I see you are using LastPass. Is the problem with LastPass, or the Firefox Password Manager?
