All my incoming emails show message id, return path, references etc

This is part of what is displayed every time I receive an email. It used to be displayed under the properties tab of the message. It all disappears when I reply to the message, so how can I get rid of it when receiving? Thanks a lot!

Chosen solution

In the main Thunderbird menu, go to View|Headers and set it to Normal. Was yours set to "All"?

"Properties tab"? Where is this in Thunderbird? Sounds like something that used to be in Outlook or Outlook Express.

Yes, you're quite right in thinking that is was in Outlook Express, which I used previously. I was just using that as an example to try and explain what the problem is.
