I send a message in from one email account but the receiver shows it is sending from a different email account.
I have looked up other help questions but did not see a solution. Both emails are gmail. When I I compose a message, it shows that it is sending from correct email address but the receiver shows the message being received from another email address.
I have not changed anything recently & I have been using Thunderbird for years. I checked the account settings & everything appears to be fine.
I am pasting the troubleshooting info below:

Chosen solution
You have six incoming gmail accounts, each with its own username and passwords. You need to have six matching outgoing (smtp) accounts too, with the same six usernames and passwords. Your symptoms suggest strongly that at least one of your accounts is not using its own smtp account, but instead one of the other gmail smtp accounts.
In each incoming account, under Account Settings, it shows the selected smtp account. For the account whose messages arrives with the wrong "from" address, you need to check which smtp account has been selected.
This is a gmail peculiarity; they silently replace the from address shown in the message by the address associated with the smtp server that was actually used, and they do this in a sneaky covert way without telling you that it has happened.

Thank you! That seems to have done the trick! :)
