i have internet access, safe mode doesn't help, thunderbird is up to date on a dell inspiron w/win10

i have previously only seen this when i was having password trouble on a particular account. everything was good yesterday, no changes since then

You have set the Quick Filter Bar to show only messages that are unread AND starred. Click those two buttons to toggle them off and see if there's any difference.
