Tab is closing after downloading PDF
Hello,
I tested this on many Computers, but the problem occurs always. There is a tab from which I want to download a PDF. After klicking the download button, Firefox opens a new empty tab to download the file. Opening the PDF in Firefox or downloading is not the problem. But Firefox closes the tab from which I was downloading the PDF from. Seems like this "feature" came with the 54.0 update.
Is there a way to fix this?
Kinde regards

We're experiencing a similar issue.
We noticed doing a Firefox Refresh appears to solve the issue temporarily, but upon a reboot or sleep, the issue comes back...

Furthermore, doing an uninstall/re-install of 54.0 does not fix it.
Doing an uninstall of 54.0 and reinstall 53.0.x fixes it. But, upon updating to 54.0 the issue persists.

That is good one. Can you see if you can get the feature to work after reading this or it may give you further in-site into the issue. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-firefox-behavior-when-open-file
Thank you for your answer. Changing or adding download actions didn't got it to work. Any further suggestions?

Thank you so much! Switching browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 to false in about:config solved the problem :)
