Why has time.gov bookmark stopped functioning?

Long in use Firefox bookmark "www.time.gov" now fails (on 2 separate machines) to connect - "time expires".

Address still works in Explorer Favorites (on both machines). Murphy strikes again - go figure.....!

I used to use that site! My old bookmark is:

http://nist.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Pacific/d/-8/java

As the end of the name indicates, back in the day, the site used the Java plugin. I think that is no longer true; my bookmark now is redirected to this page:

http://nist.time.gov/

I used to use that site! My old bookmark is:

http://nist.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Pacific/d/-8/java

As the end of the name indicates, back in the day, the site used the Java plugin. I think that is no longer true; my bookmark now is redirected to this page:

http://nist.time.gov/
