Previously viewed pages don't change colour

Below is my previous question from a long time ago. I was given a fix and it worked for so long, but now it's back to the same problem, not sure if it happened after the last update to Firefox or not. Please help. Thank you.

Hello! I browse on www.Kijiji.ca a lot and each time you view an ad, the title of the ad changes from "blue" to "purple" to show that you've already looked at this ad. Helps to keep track of which ads you've already seen and know which ones are new. Anyway, in the last few weeks, this has stopped. No matter what I do, I cannot get that feature to work again. Very frustrating, any help or suggestions would be appreciated. How do I get the previously viewed pages to show as a different colour? Thank you!

The URL that shows on the location/address bar looks different than the URL that shows if I hover the link and check the link in the Inspector. That link has some GET parameters appended.

Hello, I'm sorry but I'm not sure what you're asking me. The website I'm on is www.kijiji.ca. Please let me know what other information you need from me. Thank you.

Firefox will only mark a link as visited if you have opened this and it is still a history item. If an link on a web page is not stored as history then there is no way that Firefox shows this link as visited. The same can happen if you click a link in a frame, but that doesn't seem to be the case on that website.

Did you check what URL you see on the location/address bar if you open a link on a search page?

If you middle-click the link then the link opens in a new tab and you can go back to the original tab to compare the URL.

Ok, so I opened a link from a Google search, went back and the purple is there, showing that I have already viewed that page!

Then I try again on Kijiji, it does not show the link as purple but the "OldStyle" does change to purple. "OldStyle" was a fix that the Mozilla support team did for me to try and get things working again.

So what do I do to get the whole link purple and not just the "OldStyle"?

I worked on this the last time, but it's too late tonight to remember the details. Here's a link to the old thread:

Well, I didn't do any changes but for some reason, it's working again all on its own! I can see all the previous pages I've clicked are now purple. Weird. Happy again  :o)
