I use Firefox at work and I often get in the situation in which I have a tab that asks me for credentials (HTTP Login) and I need to copy-paste it from another tab. However when the login pop-up appears it prevent moving to other tabs. Since the authentication is only for that tab, it doesn't make sense to block all other tabs. In fact (for example) Chrome act in a more comfortable way by just greying out the content on that tab. Is it possible to change this behaviour in Firefox? Thanks!

Is there a reason you can't use Firefoxes built-in Password Manager?

If so;

Yes, for security reasons I can't store any password on my computer. Plus, I access to a lot of password-protected pages (they are remote-managed devices) so it would take a lot of time anyway to populate the stored credentials.

Thought # 1; Instead of opening in New Tabs, open in New Windows. Each window runs independent of the others.

Thought # 2; Keep Firefox in your pocket.
