how do I stop my old downloaded/deleted emails from appearing on my iphone when I check my mail the the next day

when I download my emails and have already dealt with them on my home computer, I still get ALL those emails appear again the next day on my iphone.

Have a look at using IMAP mail on Thunderbird instead of POP. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/glossary-terms-including-types-accounts#w_mail-accounts
