I've been a FF user for quite some time, but I'm getting seriously disenchanted - seems buggier and buggier. Seems you have to be a geek to make it work. I simply don't believe that gmail isn't "secure" - and I'm told that I can't override this setting. What is actually going on here? Thanks muchly, Massieguy

In the header of your question you say that the problem started after you installed Kaspersky Total Security. Advising to disable it and see if that would make a difference, seemed like a good idea.

Disable Kaspersky Total Security and see if that makes a difference. If it does :   remove the program from your system.

If you're using Windows Defender, plus the safest browser on the planet   (which is of course Firefox) :   it's like being in Fort Knox   !

Sorry, but I'm NOT going to disable Kaspersky and just put my trust in FF contributors and volunteers. Who says it's more secure? I find FF to be more and more BUGGY! Massieguy

Thanks for the link, Happy112 - interesting information. But frankly, it doesn't make be very comfortable since I find FF buggy - and I find it hard to believe that Google is behind the times wrt its security certificates, and furthermore that FF won't permit an exception in this case. Mid-level users like me are sometimes left "at sea" by changes to FF.

However, I do appreciate your help. Thanks.
