I am always surprised at this request. Many of my filters have a logical hierarchy, and need to be run in a specific order. Sorting them (How? Alphabetically? Numerically?) would ruin things for me.

Have you looked at the QuickFilters addon? ISTR it offers tools to help manage filters.
