What setting should I use for att.yahoo.com?
I've been using Thunderbird for my e-mail pickup for years. Just today something happened to my hgreeb@att.net account.
Thunderbird reports that my password is incorrect, but doesn't allow another password to be entered.
I delete the passwords for inbound.att.net and outbound.att.net from the password manager, and Thuderbird allows me to enter the new password, which works with the yahoo mail when I access it through my firefox browser, but it doesn't work with Thunderbird. It takes the new password, but then reports that the password is incorrect, but doesn't allow for entry of a new password. Of course it wouldn't work.
Help, please. Thanks in advance.

Has att.yahoo.com changed from a POP server to the IMAP server? My info was, for several years, that the POP server is the correct one. I have the setting you suggest.
The POP server doesn't work. It comes back with "Sending of password for user hgreeb@att.net did not succeed. Mail server inbound.att.net responded: " But does not follow with a way to change password.
I remain befuddled, and have to get my e-mail via the web client which I treat as a kluge. I'll try the IMAP server, just for the fish (halibut).
What setting or service offering Yahoo has is really a question for them.
Some users have had to go to the Yahoo site and adjust the new security settings that they have dreamed up. You might check into that.
Seems like a miracle happened. I can now receive messages from inbound.att.net with Thunderbird. I still cannot send messages through outbound.att.net with Thunderbird. Maybe AT&T is catching enough h..l about this incongruity that they're telling yahoo to clean up their act.
I dunno, I'd sure like to find a DSL service for my part of SW Michigan. Folks a few miles south of here have Frontier, but Frontier hasn't got this far north. There's one other, but it's three times as expensive using satellites for the link, and I'm a cheepskate.
I have no idea with STARTTLS is. please educate me. Thanks
ok i will try that
