Thunderbird problem receiving emails on yahoo account
When i try to download last message for yahoo account i have to select several time the button Get Messages (or F5). The number of time i pressed F5, before the connection is made, is random. Thunderbird say to me: "Sending of password for user maurrox@yahoo.it did not succeed. Mail server pop.mail.yahoo.com responded: " (see image). Actually the two step verification is on. But i try without the two step and the problem is the same. The configuration is ok and the send message function properly whit smtp.yahoo server. Thanks for assistance

The problem seems to be solved by activating the IMAP configuration https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN4075.html and the two-step verification for extra security https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN5013.html. In point 7 create app password, from the drop down menu, selct the last "Other app" and than use the password in Thunderbird server configuration.

This forum has been loaded with reports of problems with Yahoo accounts. I have to guess that they are just continuing to prove what a poor email provider they are.
Intermittent problems are most certainly a server issue. If your Thunderbird settings were wrong it would never work.
Thank's Airmail, now i try to ask at yahoo support ...
The first thing to try with Yahoo at the moment is changing your password on their web site.... they are running on paranoia and appear to think forcing everyone to change their passwords will fix their data breach issues. I have had about 10 emails telling me to change it or they will force me.
Seriously, you get hacked and after a couple of years someone offers to sell the data and then you go "oh my". For you or me that would be an Ok response, but they are an internet company. One of the oldest. So one should be able to assume fully aware of risks and mitigation. Apparently not. I am seriously starting to wonder how they would go running a raffle.
Hi Matt, thanks for your answer. I already tried to change my password but nothing changes. I also tried to enable the password of the app ... the behavior remains the same. After 5-6 attempts random downloads messages. I really hate to leave my first email on yahoo. Unfortunately, I see no other solution, the yahoo behavior seems to only want users to leave.
