Thunderbird worked perfekt, suddenly I can´t send pictures any more. I use windows 10.
All was running. I altered nothing. Suddenly I was not able to send one a small Picture. It stops at 9,12 ore 15% and says time out. Sending only text is OK. Receiving is all OK. I have an second computer with Win 8.1 64 bit, there all is working without problems. I compared the settings, all is identical. Both computers have Norton security. Web. de, my email provider, says, its not their problem. I already deleted my email address and installed it new, but all is the same. At the 27.12. I read, I had to refresh that my provider can send the mails to Thunderbird. I did it and was able to send 1 mail with a photo as attachment but after this NONE more. A second time it did not work. How can I copy the settings you nead to know, where I can find the folder?. I am very unhappy, spent a lot off time to find out. The computer is half a year old and we use it when we are traveling to send our pictures to the family.

Dear Matt, I am not able to post the troubleshooting Information, because when I take Word to put the clipboard in, I can´t post it. But I don´t know how to change it to an image. But I´ll give you some more information: On both computers I use Norton antivirus and firewall, but I can´t find the version, it´s updating by him self. The Thunderbird version is 45.5.1 with Windows 10 all is running, but I can´t send attachments. All was working properly until ca. the last two weeks of December. And I chanced nothing - I think. The other working Computer is running with Thunderbird 38.5.1 and Window 8.1 64 bit. When I started Safe Mode one time it worked, but when I started the Computer again, nothing was working, even the Internet was cut off. I needed a lot of time to find out, how to reset it.
I hope dearly you can help me, because I don´t like to go to an Computer service, because all my emails he can read.
I need Thunderbird to post pictures.
With best regards
Barbarina

Dear Matt or someone helpful guy ,
thank you a lot Mat, that you answered me so quickly.
But now on Barbarinas Computers some more mysterious changing of Thunderbird: - I changed nothing, I swear !!!!!
It´s now working nothing. If I will send an email I get the answer:
"requested action not taken, mailbox unavailable, invalid DNA or A/AAA. Please check the email address of the receiver ( that's my other address witch is working correctly on the other Computer of win 10 with Thunderbird)
and if I will send I get :
" Sender address not allowed, check if the settings in the account are ok". Very new is, that on the computer with win 8.1 where Thunderbird was working correctly, now I have with one address the same problem - surly I changed nothing. I phoned to web.de they checked and said, on their side all is ok. When I sent mails from the web. de side, all was running, I got the mail also over Thunderbird.
The support in web.de told me, to deleed the account an reinstall it. That worked, but I can´t send attachments , it´s the same as before.
I will be very glad, if anybody has an idea, to help me.
Thanks
Dear helpful guys,
I don´t know what you did, but now is everything perfect running, as it did before. Thank you a lot.!!!!!!
I am very glad, because I was very content with Thunderbird and Firefox and I think, its very important to stand against have to stand against Microsoft and Appel
With kind regards

Hello helpful Guys,
nothing is solved - I have the problem, that it changes: with the same e-mail sometimes it works, sometimes not.
I phoned to Norton security, but they said, if it is blocked by Norton it should be always, not changing.
Now I uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird - but´s the same, I can´t send even a little attachment.
Is it perhaps the version? Because on my other computer with 38.5.1 it is working. Is it possible to download the old version?
I can´t say how many time I spent to find where the problem is. Have nobody else this Problem?
Who can help me?
With kind regards
Barbarina
Regardless of what Norton said. Turn off the email scanning and see if the problem stays away. Their scanning of outgoing mail is really not necessary, but it slows the process considerable. An overhead for 30% may well apply. Attachments make the email bigger, so transmission is slower. If Norton slows things enough you get a timeout.
Dear Matt,
thank you. In the meantime I brought the Computer to a specialist. There it worked without problems. I think now it is according to our WiFi. I have now the remote control of this specialist. When he finds out, what it is, I will tell. But in the next three weaks I have any time.
With many regards
Barbarina
