Thunderbird deletes all read messsages in the inbox after reading

I have spent hours following suggestion from the knowledge base. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Disappearing_mail Removed anti virus to assure it was not the issue View- messages and threads ALL Check and unchecked all properties Tried safe mode. and so on.

This is a new install on a new windows 10 machine.

It sends and receives to all emails fine just deletes EVERYTHING after is ti is read and you return to TB

Have used TB for years with no issue :-)

Chosen solution

Problem solve. One other computer on the network wasvset to POP account and was deleting emails after they were read.

Changed the setting to delete after 20 days and the issue is no longer present on new computer.
