I just upgraded to new computer & installed TB. Read status and deleted emails from Android phone for gmail acct not syncing right.

On old computer, emails that I had read where shown as "read" when I opened TB. emails I had deleted were deleted. Now, when I open TB, all shows up as new and unread, no matter what I did to it on my mobile device. I think I have a sync setting wrong. Any suggestions?

You need to use IMAP instead of POP to do what you want. Did you setup Thunderbird as IMAP?
