Why, in website galleries, such as NASCAR, does Firefox stop functioning after 3 or 4 photos? Safari is fine.

In galleries like (http://galleries.nascar.com/gallery/578/at-track-photos-friday-michigan-road-america#/0) the first three photos are fine but then the app simply stops functioning. Even the back button ceases to work. This has been happening for at least 6 months and possibly longer. It happens on many websites... not just NASCAR. Since other browsers (Safari, Chrome, etc.) function properly, it is obviously a Firefox issue. I have basically gone away from Firefox because of these and other issues that never seem to be resolved even though a supposed new update is out at least once a month. I'm currently on 48.0.1.
