I don't want a master codeword but can't select this in settings
Hello! Is there anybody who knows how I can UNCHECK THE OPTION "USE A MASTER PASSWORD" in the settings. All the answers to the person who had the same problem on his/hers Mac in the community is not appliable because it's asked for HOW TO UNCHECK WHEN NO MASTER PASSWORD IS EXISTING. Everytime comes up the message to write my master password while I never had one and has not checked this option in the settings, though it's checked. This problem arose when I created a Firefox account and I think I clicked on SYNC. Has Firefox automatically checked this option for me? And do I really have to uninstall Firefox folders in order to get rid of the problem? Thanks for all short and good anwers! Kind regards Wendera

If you are sure about the "Use a master password" option being grayed out (and I say so because some people have reported the "Remember logins for sites" option to be grayed out), something may have gone wrong in your profile, either with migration or for another reason. This should be unrelated to Sync.
You should be able to reset the master password however by following the steps described here:
- Enter
chrome://pippki/content/resetpassword.xul
into the Location Bar (address bar), press the "Enter" key and click "Reset".
Please let us know if this helped. In the future, also please do not reply to other questions with any (unrelated) assumptions following out of your own question, like you did today.

Thanks a lot, The link was helpful. What is the problem related to then, if not sync or the account? (would be good to know next time it happens). I never had this problem before I registrered an account. And sorry for the expression of my frustration.
