I have tried the shortcut properties but it's no help, anybody able to help?
Chosen solution
Your desktop shortcut might be corrupted. Here's how you can check that:
- Desktop shortcut: right-click the icon, choose Properties
- Pinned taskbar icon: right-click the icon, right-click Mozilla Firefox, choose Properties
Windows normally will select the Shortcut tab. If not, go ahead and click the Shortcut tab.
The Target line should not have anything after this part:
- 32-bit Firefox on 64-bit Windows: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
- Otherwise: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
If anything is listed after that, clear it out and save your change. To test, you can either:
- Desktop shortcut: double-click the icon to launch a new window
- Pinned taskbar icon: right-click the icon, click Mozilla Firefox to launch a new window
If you get a normal startup or a new window showing your home page, the shortcut is back to normal.

Hi
I am not quite sure what the support issue you are having is.
Please can you provide more details around what you are trying to do and the problem you are having?
Firefox is not a Windows file manager. To do anything interesting in that folder, I suggest opening it in Windows Explorer. You can call that up by holding down the "Windows" key on your keyboard, and pressing and releasing the E key.
Hello When I open firefox I get a page with " file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Mozilla%20Firefox/ " if I open my windows and tabs from last time I get this page, if I set default page I get this page, if I set homepage I get this page I have followed all the advice given, ran all the virus and malware advised and I still get this page somebody suggested checking the shortcut but I am not sure if I should interfere with it, other people have it but I am lost at what to do

Hmm, I have no idea how that got there. Maybe something added a page or path and something else cleaned it up imperfectly. ???
I will try and be more diligent
