Why do I keep getting this error? Sending of username did not succeed. Mail server pop.verizon.net responded: [AUTH] Authentication failed
I have 2 verizon email accounts set up in Thunderbird they were both working fine until about 2 or 3 days ago. The bring.... account does not allow me to send email. I first get the message in question box. Then asks for password. I put in my password and it does not work. I have uninstalled Thunderbird and reinstalled it. Still no good. I changed my user ID and password at verizon and updated in Thunderbird still no good. I have now spent many many hours with verizon tech support and on my own trying to fix the problem. Please help.

check User Name in settings: In Thunderbird, 'Menu icon' > 'Options' > 'Account Settings' select 'Server Settings' for the mail account 'User Name' should = full email address edit if required click on OK
Post the following info: In Thunderbird 'Help' > 'TRoubleshooting Information' Do Not select 'Include account names' Click on 'Copy text to clipboard' button.
